F1 Tires

SRT reports tires using their absolute physical classification (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, Intermediate, Wet - see the official Pirelli web site and Three Colours, Five Compounts) instead of the relative soft/medium/hard colors. This provides unique and correct information on the used compound also when analyzing different circuits.

In modern F1, for each race 3 mixtures from the above physical set (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) are selected for a race: a “soft” mixture (always shown as red), a “medium” (yellow) and an “hard” (white). This means that while in 2 different circuits you could always “see” the red (soft) tire, in reality you could be using two very different physical mixtures (e.g. C1 in the first circuit and the C2 in the second one). In SRT, in order to make comparisons more reliable and better reflect the physical car behavior, we show only the physical tire classes.
