Changelog

v1.16.0

We're excited to present the latest updates to Sim Racing Telemetry, designed to enhance your experience and streamline your workflow.

In this release, you will find enhancements such as our revamped Recording Screen, a more intuitive Games List with smart ordering, and improved accessibility features, all aimed at making your interaction with SRT smoother and more efficient.

Read through the details below to discover what is included in this update. Thank you for your continued support and feedback, and we hope you enjoy the improved functionality!

Let's start

  • The classic but essential: optimizations and bug fixes!
  • Most views now feature a Help button that points directly to the user manual, helping you discover how to use SRT to its fullest.
  • Our Games List has gotten smarter! With a smart ordering algorithm, your most recently used games will rise to the top, based on their last recorded session. No more tedious scrolling, it's all right there at your fingertips!
  • Looking for a specific lap to Compare? You can now filter the laps by Vehicle, Session Type, and User, making your selection process a breeze.
  • When the app prompts you to configure a nickname before sharing a telemetry file, you can now do so without leaving the selected session. Keep your momentum going!

Recording Screen

  • Welcome to our all-new Recording Screen! While it won't show real-time telemetry just yet, it's a significant upgrade. You'll find useful information about your current recording, including a live chart of the number of telemetry samples received from the game — perfect for spotting any networking hiccups.
  • We've added an application setting to enable or disable battery saver mode during recording. It's enabled by default and this feature lowers screen brightness while recording to help your device last longer.

Views Customization

  • Introducing a new Telemetry Parameters selection dialog! We've simplified how you choose and arrange your telemetry parameters, with selected ones now pinned at the top for easy access and reorganization.
  • Customize the Lap Table view by pinning your favorite telemetry parameters at the top! This way, you can transform that wall of numbers into a more manageable and useful display.
  • Need to configure Statistics? Our new workflow lets you quickly select a parameter and customize its stats; you can even search for parameters by name and pin your chosen stats at the top for quick updates.
  • When in Trial Mode, locked Telemetry Parameters are now conveniently grouped in a dedicated section, so you can easily spot the available ones.

Charts

  • All charts now come with options to maximize, minimize, and restore them, so you can hide what you don't need and enlarge what you do!
  • In the Session Charts view, we've enhanced the Lap Times and Race Positions charts! Laps with pit stops are now excluded from the lap times chart for a clearer picture of your performance.

Sessions List

  • Filtering just got a boost! The Sessions List now supports filtering recordings by Session Type, helping you find exactly what you need.
  • Our Sessions List highlights the best timings from the displayed sessions, making it easy to spot your top performances according to your chosen filters.

Accessibility

  • Updated all colors to improve accessibility, especially for those with vision impairment, following the WCAG 2.1 AA standard.
  • Even when using custom palettes, labels automatically select the most visible color to ensure clarity, adhering to the WCAG 2.1 relative luminance directive.
  • Formatting just got better! We now use spaces for digit grouping according to BIPM standards, and values are rounded for a consistent and polished look.

v1.15.1

Racing Line mode in F1 24

The Racing Line mode is now available for all the tracks of F1 24: open the Track View, press the Mode button, and compare your racing lines.

When enabled, the Racing Line mode shows the exact racing line followed on track. It works also in comparison mode, to easily analyze which racing line is the faster one.

v1.15.0

Added Support for F1 24

Hello sim racers! As always, we are very happy to provide you with support for F1 24 in record time, but this time we are even ahead of the official release date of the game! SRT can already be used by all those who have pre-ordered the Champions Edition version of F1 24.

The new F1 24 protocol adds interesting new telemetry parameters, like:

  • the front/rear plank height, to help detecting bottoming;
  • suspensions roll and chassis yaw, to analyze slips;
  • exact speed-trap points, to compare setups for top speed.

As usual we need some extra time to record the new tracks, so the Racing Line feature for F1 24 will be available soon in the next update.

Press the Help button in the recording screen for the detailed configuration instructions.

v1.14.0

Added Support for Automobilista 2 (AMS2)

Many of you asked for it, and we are happy to announce that AMS2 is now natively supported in Sim Racing Telemetry!

The integration uses the networking telemetry system of AMS, so it works on all the platforms supported by SRT.

Press the Help button in the recording screen for detailed configuration instructions.

Quality Of Life improvements

In this version we have made many changes under the hood. Most of them are not directly visible, as they improve the overall stability and performance of Sim Racing Telemetry. If you notice any problems, please contact us using the email button on the main screen.

  • Fixed the possibility of leaving the Recording Screen unexpectedly during a recording, possibly resulting in a corrupted recording.
  • Fixed undefined Theoretical Lap Time for some unexpected recordings.
  • Fixed a possible White Screen of Death on macOS when opening the Recording Screen.

v1.12.0

Added Support for Assetto Corsa Competizione

The long wait is over and finally support for Assetto Corsa Competizione is now available in Sim Racing Telemetry!

ACC is supported on all versions of SRT, but only the PC version of ACC shares data. If you are using the mobile version of SRT, you will need to use the free version of SRT for PC to capture and forward the data to your smartphone or tablet.

Press the Help button in the Recording screen of Assetto Corsa Competizione for all the instructions.

The integration includes support for the Racing Line feature for all the tracks of ACC, including all the DLC tracks available at the time of writing.

Quality Of Life improvements

Thanks to your feedback, we also made some minor changes to improve SRT.

New features:

  • Improved the responsive design of some screens on the Desktop version. You should notice it as soon as you launch SRT.
  • Added a nice reminder when finishing forwarding data from PC to your mobile device, so you can stop searching for recordings on the wrong device.
  • Improved how the Y=0 line and label are displayed in the charts, avoiding overlaps.

Bug fixes:

  • F122 - Fixed recording of the first lap when the Formation Lap option is set to Immersive.
  • iOS - Invalid laps were missing the strikethrough effect.
  • Fixed vertical movements of charts when the last chart is plotting tyre parameters.

  • Restored the lateral g-force color in the position slider.
  • Fixed the session summary when all the lap times are invalidated.

v1.11.0

Added Support for F1 22

We tried our best to release support for F1 22 as soon as possible! If you notice any issue, please report them using the e-mail button inside the app.

Press the Help button in the recording screen for configuration instructions.

To release the integration sooner, the new Racing Line feature introduced recently in v1.10 is currently not available for F1 22. But we're already working on it and it'll be available in a few weeks.

Quality Of Life improvements

While waiting to implement support for F1 22, we dedicated time to improve the daily usage of SRT:

  • Improved the Racing Line view when in Comparison Mode:
  • The other compared vehicle is drawn with an independent pin.
  • The current Delta Time is shown on screen.
  • The pinch-to-zoom gesture on mobile has been rewritten, and now your fingers rule!
  • …and this is true also for the mouse cursor on desktop.
  • Numerical values shown in the different tabs are always properly synched, not depending anymore on the zoom-level used by the tab.
  • Improved rendering of Delta Time charts, in particular when zoomed-out. A much better smoothing is computed now, resulting in a more precise and less noisy curve on screen.
  • Charts draw a highlighted horizontal line at Y=0 when needed. This helps detecting when a telemetry parameter value changes sign.
  • The Position Chart in the Session View now plots only not-zero timings, resulting in a much better output.

v1.10.0

Racing Line Mode

The new Racing Line mode is now available in the Track View! 🥳

When enabled, it shows the exact racing line followed on track. Of course the best way to use it is in comparison mode, where you can easily measure which racing line is the faster one.

At the moment the Racing Line mode is available only for F1 2021.

v1.9.0

Welcome to a new version full of love ❤️ and racing 🏎!

This release introduces many small Quality Of Life improvements and extends Shared Memory support on all platforms (yes, it's time for “Assetto Corsa on mobile”!)

Quality Of Life improvements

Thanks to your feedback, it was time to refresh some graphics and re-work some details to improve the daily usage of SRT.

  • A shiny new What's New dialog 😁, with images and links to our social channels!
  • Sessions now report the theoretical best lap time, based on the best intermediates of the session.
  • You can now use the filter parameters box to quickly search thorough the available telemetry parameters.
  • We added sector marks on both the track view and the position slider.
  • New graphics for the F1 games.
  • A new Welcome Page is shown on fresh app installs (if you're curious, you can open it from the Settings screen).

Assetto Corsa across all platforms

As anticipated, now you can use Sim Racing Telemetry on mobile (and macOS) while driving on Assetto Corsa for PC!

The system requires the free version of Sim Racing Telemetry for PC to forward data from your local PC Shared Memory to your remote device.

Press the Help button in the Recording screen of Assetto Corsa for all the instructions.

v1.8.0

Added Support for Assetto Corsa

🥁 Assetto Corsa (by Kunos Simulazioni) is here!

This is a very important update for SRT, because we've extended the recording system to support games sharing data using the PC Shared Memory. This means that, in addition to the great title by Kunos, soon we'll be able to add support for other well-known games (including Assetto Corsa Competizione of course)!

As the Shared Memory can be read only from the same machine running the game (and is not supported on consoles), Assetto Corsa is supported only by the PC version of SRT. For those using SRT also on other devices, we're already working on a solution (the PC version of SRT will be able to forward data to other SRT instances running on the same network).

For instructions on how to record data from Assetto Corsa, please press the Help button in the recording screen.

v1.7.0

Added Support for F1 2021

Added native support for F1 2021 (by Codemasters). Press the Help button in the recording screen for the detailed instructions.

Quality Of Life improvements

Color Palette
Thanks to your feedbacks, we fixed a bug causing too dark colors in some charts. But as we were not satisfied enough, you can now customize the color palette used by SRT to better suit your preferences. You can find the option in the Settings menu.

Game Settings
You can now customize the available recording settings for each game. You can access the options from both the Settings menu and the Recording page. Options include - for example - the UDP listening port for F1* games, simplifying how to use SRT with other tools at the same time.

v1.6.0

Added Support for F1 2020

Added native support for F1 2020 (by Codemasters). Press the Help button in the recording screen for the detailed instructions.

Added Telemetry Sharing

Sharing
You can now share your telemetries with other users and compare your laps with the ones from your friends. Used with the comparison feature, this is the best tool to improve your skills. Sharing and importing is simple: open a telemetry session and press the Share icon, select the Share option and send/save the file. When you receive a .SRT file, you can import it from the game screen pressing the Import icon.

Exporting
A long-awaited feature is finally available: you can now export your telemetry data to CSV file, to analyze them with other programs (Excel, LibreOffice, etc.). Exporting data is simple: open a telemetry session and press the Share icon, select the Export to CSV option and send/save the file. Saving CSV files could require few minutes and could result in big files, so be patient when exporting them.

v1.5.0

Added Support for F1 2019

Added native support for F1 2019 (by Codemasters). Instructions on how to configure SRT and F1 2019 are available pressing the Help button in the recording screen.

Added Statistics

This release adds the new statistics feature: you can now compute mathematical statistics for each supported telemetry parameter. This information is essential when you work on car setups. For example you can compute the maximum speed, the average tyre temperature, etc. Supported statistics are: min, max, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, median, median absolute deviation. The statistics can be configured for individual laps or for whole sessions, with output in tabular form and (for session statistics only) graphics charts. The lap statistics supports the comparison feature.

Under the Hood

SRT now uses a data flow approach to automatically update the views when the underlying data change. This is an hidden feature and will help developing better features in the future. This is a big technical change and if you notice any bug, please report them pressing the e-mail icon in the main menu.

v1.4.3

  • Fixed missing lap data from F1 2018 after pit stops (thanks to Anatoly for the help).
  • Changed images of Codemasters games.

v1.4.2

Fixed a crash with F1 2018 when starting the recording of a timed lap on old ARMv7 chipsets not supporting unaligned memory accesses (thanks to Julien and Jared for the help).
